WHERE WE BEGAN
Royal Ambulance was founded in 2006 by Steve Grau with a simple but profound mission: To impact patient recovery by creating exceptional human experiences. While coordinating care for his ailing grandfather, Steve witnessed first hand the difference that exceptional care can make in the life and health of a patient.
Determined to make a difference in the lives of suffering patients, Steve left his career as a technology industry entrepreneur to train as an EMT. License in hand,
he entered the business of patient care and transportation, first in the field and
later in business development.
Not long after, he returned home to San Francisco to start Royal Ambulance. Royal has since grown to over 200 team members and provided 40,000 transports last year. All along the way, Royal Ambulance has been and remains dedicated to providing exceptional experiences to patients, clinicians, administrators and the entire Royal team.
